Singer IU tumbles to the floor….again

Singer IU who is known for being a tad clumsy, but still adorable has once again tumbled on the floor, this time — on a basketball court.
On February 11th, IU attended the ‘2011~2012 KB Kookmin Card Pro Basketball All-Star Game‘ which was held at the Jamsil Stadium. It was a face-off between Seoul Samsung and Wonju Dongbu.
IU who made a special appearance to open the game by shooting the first goal, tumbled on the court on her first try. The singer did appear to be a little embarrassed, but laughed it off in a cute manner. Although she messed up the first time, IU scored on her second try.
This wasn’t the first time the idol has shown her clumsiness. Back in 2011, IU fell on the stage while going to receive her Daesang at the ‘Melon Music Awards‘ in September. Her acceptance speech was a full mix of emotional crying, joy, and embarrassment.
Netizens who saw IU’s tumbling video for the All-Star game commented, “At this rate she will no longer be called the ‘Nation’s little sister’, but the ‘Tumbling Idol‘”, “The way she fell was so cute~“, and “LOL I just love IU <3“.

IU Gives a Middle School Girl Cheerful Advice

IU’s cheerful advice given to a middle school fan is making waves around the internet. On IU’s official fan café “U Ae( Chinese Character for Love) Na” a 15 year old girl wrote about her problems. The girl wrote, “I want to be a robot engineer. However, I am always getting teased for the fact that I make robots. It is hard for me because of the people with prejudice. Should I merely leave my robot making a hobby?”
IU replied by saying, “Wow you are so cool. You have parents to help you at and you seem to have the ability yourself. Aren’t you merely just afraid yourself? Do what you want to do. It seems like that job might cost a lot of money. Try your best while thinking about your parents that trust you! I will cheer you on!”
Netizens that have come across the post stated, “This is probably why IU is loved so much,” “IU knows how to repay the love from fans!” “You can’t dislike her. She is pretty and has common sense,” and IU is a real angel.”

INFINITE & IU’s “Elite Song” for school uniform brand ‘Elite’ will make you love school

In order to cheer on the students beginning a brand new semester, school uniform brand ‘Elite‘ recruited IU and INFINITE to sing the “Elite Song“.
The song has received much popularity and since the end of January, the song received more than 20,000 downloads. The students that downloaded the song remarked, “I feel more confident having my favorite stars cheer me on“, and “The melody is so addictive, I catch myself singing along each time I listen.”
The song’s lyrics are things students can relate to such as first day jitters, friendship, grades, first love, and more. The catchy melody is also easy to sing along to, and many students have set the song as their ringtones.
There are three versions of the song: the IU version, the INFINITE version, and a collaboration version. All three songs are available to listen to and download on Elite’s official website.
Elite’s marketing team remarked, “As a student uniform brand, we study the current trends and styles amongst students and work to offer approachable services that offer students what they need.”

The above photo recently surfaced on an online community site with the caption, “IU without makeup looks exactly as she did when she was younger.”
Her current photo was being compared to one when she was a bit younger, and netizens were impressed with how her flawless skin and innocent charm has stayed exactly the same over the years.

IU has recently been appointed as an exclusive model for the cosmetics brand “The Saem”.
On January 30th, ‘The Saem’ commented, “IU is so loved that she is even known as the ‘nation’s little sister’. She also has bright and clear skin that girls love. We believe that with her assistance, we will be able to expand the awareness of our brand.”
Next month IU will participate in her first advertisement shoot for ‘The Saem’.

Sunny Hill’s Kota thanks IU for her help

Sunny Hill’s Kota recently showed her gratitude to IU.
On the 29th, Kota wrote on her personal Twitter and included a picture, “IU, IU, IU. Thank you so much for your help today. Cutie IU.” The picture shows IU and the members of Sunny Hill posing with oranges; with IU disguising herself as a guy.
Kota’s comment is referring to the SBS “Inkigayo” performance on the 29th, where IU performed with Sunny Hill during their track “The Grasshopper Song”.
Netizens left support messages like, “I want to see another surprise stage from IU,” and “It feels great seeing those from the same family company helping each other out.”

IU’s pictures in Japan resemble ‘gravure’?

Some photographs of IU in Japan have got fans talking.
On the January 28th, photos of IU in Japan appeared on an online community under a thread titled, “IU in Asakusa, Toori no Still Cut”. The photographs showed a girlish and innocent IU as she enjoyed herself in Japan. In one picture, IU can be seen posing with a sand writing she did saying, “IU desu!” (“I’m IU!”).
Netizens revealed all sorts of different reactions. “Have fun in Japan!”, “I couldn’t tell if this was gravure or not,” and “The more I look at these, the more charming you become”.
[TL Note: Gravure is a popular industry in Japan. It can vary from normal photoshoots, to bikini shoots. Basically, gravure tends to be high quality photos of women that are professionally taken. I can’t really explain it well in English since…gravure is gravure ^^;]
